What makes it different from Thai massage
Thai massage works with pressure and stretching — firm, active, and not for everyone. An oil massage works with long continuous strokes and the warmth of the oil. If you are sore from training, sunburnt, or you simply want to stop thinking for an hour, this is the one to book.
The oils
Coconut oil for skin left dry by sun and salt water. Sesame for deeper warmth in tired muscles. Both cold-pressed, both used fresh, neither perfumed. If you would rather have unscented or a lighter touch, say so when you book — it is a small spa and that is easy to arrange.
How to make an afternoon of it
Herbal steam sauna first, then the oil massage, then the pool. The steam opens everything up so the massage does more with less pressure. Most people who try it in that order do not go back to booking the massage alone.
